Ricarda Sammaneh

Ricarda “Riki” Sammaneh is the Grants Administrator at the Athens County Economic Development Council.  She administers state and federal grants for the Athens County Port Authority supporting the creation of manufacturing jobs and brownfield site cleanup in Athens County.  She also oversees the day-to-day operations of the office, which supports both the ACEDC and the ACPA, including bookkeeping, records management, and property management of Port Authority lessees. She is also a Notary Public. Ms. Sammaneh earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Ohio University. After graduation, her first engineering position was as ESD Engineer for a large defense avionics manufacturer of navigation and guidance systems in Minneapolis, where she ensured that process controls and customer requirements protecting all static sensitive devices in three manufacturing plants were followed during transport, storage, or assembly.  This experience gave her a unique overview of how all departments in a large manufacturing facility contribute to a successful product.

With over three decades supporting a variety of industries, her extensive manufacturing background ranges from small start-ups to huge automotive plants. In addition to manufacturing, Ms. Sammaneh also has a passion for real estate—she was a real estate agent in Minnesota and holds an Ohio license after completing Ohio Real Estate Certificate coursework at Ohio University and Hondros College.

Ms. Sammaneh was born in St. Paul, MN and grew up in Athens where her father was an OHIO professor.  After almost three decades in the Twin Cities, she now enjoys a quieter life in the Athens area.
